Dragon Earns Outstanding Soloist Award at TSSEC - May 2011

Congratulations to Holly Rosenberg for being named an Outstanding Soloist at TSSEC.

UIL Concert & Sight Reading Competition - April 13 - 14, 2011

The Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, and Symphonic Band received Superior Ratings in both Concert and Sight Reading. The Concert Band received Excellent Ratings in both Concert and Sight Reading.

This year's concert ratings, combined with Superior Ratings at the UIL Marching Competition in October 2010, earn the Carroll Dragon Band its 28th UIL Sweepstakes Award!

Collin County Community College Jazz Festival - March 26, 2011

Jazz Band I was named one of the Outstanding Bands of the Day.

Carroll Jazz Earns Top Honors at UTA Jazz Festival - March 3, 2012

The Jazz Ensemble (our second jazz band) won first place in the 5A-II dvision for the third year in a row. Additionally, 10 or the 17 members of the Jazz Ensemble were awarded Certificates of Excellence for their individual performances. The Jazz Orchestra, which is our top group, was last year's Festival Sweepstakes winner, so they were invited to perform noncompetively as this year's exhibition band during the awards ceremony.

2011-2012 All State Band Members

Congratulations to Neha Jain, Holly Rosenberg, and Taylor White for earning a spot in the All State Bands.

All Region and Area Results - 2011-2012

December 2011: 29 Dragon Band Members were selected to the Region 24 All Region Bands. Five of these advanced to Area where they will try out for one of the All State Bands. Four of these students were also selected as members of the All Region Orchestra.

10 students earning a spot in the Region Jazz Band I qualified to submit a recording for the All-State Jazz Band!

Dragon Band Move to CSHS - Volunteers Needed!

As you may be aware, due to construction at Carroll High School, the Dragon Band must move from the high school to Carroll Senior High School for the summer. This will entail moving anything and everything related to summer marching band. The move is planned for Wednesday May 30th beginning 9:30 am. We need as many volunteers as possible in order to make this move efficiently. We plan to use the Semi-Trailer to help facilitate the move, and we should be able to move most of the equipment in 2 – 4 loads. Any help you can give would be appreciated, a hour to a full day. As usual, we will make this fun for the parents as we interact with other band parents.
