Jazz Band I has been selected as one of 15 finalists at the 2010 Essentially Ellington jazz competition in New York City!  The band was a finalist in 2007, and this year's students have been working very hard to achieve this goal again.  The competition takes place from May 8th-10th, and the students will perform their program before an all-star panel of judges including the famous Wynton Marsalis.  The other 14 high schools are from places ranging from Seattle, to New York, to Florida.  The press release, which includes the list of high schools competing can be found here:  http://tinyurl.com/ye2g7rz.
