The Southlake Carroll Color Guard has two performance seasons. In the fall, the Color Guard performs with the Carroll Dragon Marching Band. The Color Guard plays a significant role in the band's competition marching show, often serving to illustrate and act out the "story" told by the music.

During the spring semester, the group becomes the Winter Guard. Their season runs from January through April, and consists of indoor competitions which include schools from across the state of Texas.

Costumes are custom-designed each season and complement the music of the halftime show or indoor competition. Color Guard performances integrate flags, rifles, sabres, and other props into professionally choreographed routines incorporating complex dance and gymnastics movements. Color Guard auditions are open to Carroll students in 9th-12th grades.

For younger students, the Carroll Color Guard established the Carroll Color Guard Cadets in 2012. The Cadets are a competitive ensemble for students in 6th-8th grades, offering younger students training in flag handling, dance/movement, choreography, and other skills essential for Color Guard members at the high school level. In its first two years, the Carroll Cadets met with unprecedented success ... taking first place titles at the NTCA Cadet Championships in 2013 and 2014.

Recent awards include:

2019 - WGI Dayton Championships  - Finalist

2019 - NTCA Coppell - 1st place

2019 - NTCA Alvarado - 1st Place

2019 - WGI Dallas Regional - 1st Place

2018 - Tournament of Champions, Carrollton - Outstanding Color Guard

Auditions for Color Guard and Cadets take place in late spring, and Winter Guard auditions happen in the late fall.
