The Dragon Band offers several performance opportunities for percussionists. These include the Marching Band Drumline and Front Ensemble, Carroll Indoor Percussion, and Concert Percussion Ensembles.

The Marching Band Drumline and Front Ensemble consists of 30-40 percussion students. As the "heartbeat" of the marching band, the group features prominently in every competition show, and competes in various competitions alongside the Carroll Dragon Band during the fall marching season. The percussion section is also known for its production of “LIDS”, which is played at halftime during the varsity football team’s Playoff season.

Did you know you can book the Carroll Drumline? The Carroll Drumline is an asset to the community, often performing at book parades, CEF parades, community events, and leading CISD team clap outs.  Many local businesses have utilized Carroll Drumline's talents to add enthusiasm and excitement to their grand openings or other special events.  Please reach out to David.Walker@southlakecarroll.edu or fill out this interest form for more information.

Percussion students also participate in Concert Percussion Ensembles, which have the option of competing at UIL Solo & Ensemble contests, as well as the statewide Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest in Austin each spring. Carroll Percussion ensembles have consistently earned Superior ratings both locally and at the state level.  Members of Carroll's percussion groups have been recognized as "Outstanding Soloists" at TSSEC.
