MARCHING HOT WEATHER

BAND UNIFORMS:
MARCHING UNIFORMS:
Marching Jacket, Pants , Gauntlet, Hat, Hat Box and Plume are owned and purchased by the school and are sized and issued to students but are kept at school. Students will check out uniforms on days of football games and competitions and they will be returned before leaving. Marching shoes, black socks, gloves, Friday T-shirt, band polo, Khaki shorts, black atletic shorts, Band white ball cap, Band garment bag, Band duffle and Band Juguzzi are all owned and purchased by students and will be brought (or worn) to and from school, practice, games and competitions as needed.
CONCERT ATTIRE:
Casual concertwear is Band Polos and Kahakis. Formal concertwear is Tux or Dress. Band polos are a required purchase and will be fitted during Accessory fittings. Concert Tuxes and Dresses are owned by the school. They will be sized and issued to students and will go home with them. Students are responsible for their care. Men will purchase a white Tux shirt and bow tie during registration. Tuxes and dresses will be returned after the Spring Concert in May.
JAZZ ATTIRE:
Jazz Polos are a required purchase and will be fitted during Accessory fittings. Men will purchase a black suit, black socks and black dress shoes. Jazz Orchestra will purchase a black dress shirt and a black tie. Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Band will purchase any color solid shirt (not black) and any solid color tie. Women will purchase a black dress and Black Dress shoes.

WEARING THE MARCHING UNIFORM
HAT
The hat should be worn straight on top of the head with the strap snug under the chin. Hair extending below the collar will be worn inside the hat. Plumes will be issued immediately before each marching performance and collected immediately following.
MARCHING COAT
The coat should be worn completely fastened at all times when in public unless otherwise specified by the Directors. The Friday T-shirt is to be worn under the uniform coat, allowing the Band to have a uniform appearance if the coat and overlay are removed during hot weather.
PANTS
The bottom of the hem should be 1” to 1 1/2” from the ground when wearing band shoes and properly adjusted suspenders. Note: Black nylon atletic shorts or comparable are acceptable for warm weather; long johns or thermals are acceptable for cold weather.
SHOES
Shoes are to be kept clean and polished. Only black shoes and tall black socks are to be worn with the marching uniform.
